AT&T provides nationwide wireless service and equipment in the United States and broadband, including fiber connections and fixed wireless access, to residential and business customers; it also provides wireless service and equipment in Mexico. Wireless subscribers are classified as postpaid, prepaid or reseller, and customers may purchase handsets on an installment basis or bring their own device. The company participates in FCC spectrum auctions, acquires spectrum licences from third parties and redeploys existing spectrum, while migrating customers off its legacy copper network. It previously acquired a video business, later separated it and has since sold its remaining interest.
